Mission Statement & Goals
Mission
The mission of Garland Elementary is to ensure that all students learn at grade level or higher.

Vision
Our vision is to have 90% of our students reach grade level or above in both the School City math assessment and the Acadience reading assessment.

Collective Commitments
Garland Elementary faculty and staff have established the following commitments as a vision of our values in working with each other for the benefit of all students.

-
We will use data to plan and provide engaging learning opportunities to effectively teach our students the essential standards.
-
We accept and embrace the responsibility when it comes to student learning. We do not just teach, we ensure that students learn. We will not make excuses and we will do whatever it takes to help our students learn the GVC.
-
We will provide specific and targeted interventions and extensions focusing on the guaranteed and viable curriculum and based on assessment data.
-
We will use frequent and effective communication to provide a climate that is friendly, kind, welcoming, and positive in order to create a safe and clean environment for everyone.
-
We will work towards the common goal or high student achievement, be consistent, and communicate clearly.
-
We will foster a climate and tradition of high learning expectations where we collectively celebrate success and build up the skills of all through effective collaboration practice.

Staff Commitments
Garland Elementary faculty and staff have established the following commitments as a vision of our values in working with each other for the benefit of all students.

• We will be a part of the solution instead of the problem.
• We will be honest and fair in working with each other. If we have a concern with a faculty member, we will speak to them directly. If we wouldn’t say something to a colleague’s face, we probably shouldn’t say it to anyone else.
• We will seek out opportunities to interact with each other and provide positive feedback.
• We will give constructive criticism in a way that can elicit growth.
• We will accept constructive criticism without taking offense.
• We will respect the thoughts and feelings of each other and remember that everyone is doing their best for the students at Garland.
