Principal's Message: Important Information About School Closure

March 16, 2020

Dear Parents,

Here is some important information for you about school for the next two weeks.

Instruction: Students will begin receiving access to instruction from their teacher on Wednesday the 18th of March. Each grade level team will be sending home a letter tomorrow, via e-mail, explaining how to access their materials and instruction. Please watch for that and e-mail your child’s teacher directly if you have questions or need assistance. All e-mail addresses can be found on the school website.

Food Services: Breakfast and lunch will be provided beginning on the 18th. Breakfast will be available for pick-up here at the school from 8:00 to 8:30. Lunch will be available for pick-up here at the school from 10:50 to 11:40. We will only be providing meals to students. Parents or others will not be allowed to purchase meals. Students MUST be present to receive the meal. Meals will be picked up outside. We will simply take the student’s name and charge the appropriate account. We will not accept payment in any form at the time of pick-up. If your child rides the bus to school, you may choose to pick-up a meal at your child’s bus stop. The transportation and nutrition departments have been attempting to contact all bus riders to inform them of this option. The idea is to use the busses to deliver the meals, both breakfast and lunch, to the normal bus stops. Students would have to be present at the bus stop to receive a meal. Again, the student’s name will be taken and their account will be charged.

Chrome Book Check-Out: If you need an additional device at home so that your child can access the on-line curriculum and instruction, you may check out a school chrome book. We will only provide one chrome book per family. On Wednesday the 18th, chrome books will be available for check out. Please come to the school sometime between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. We will only check out a chrome book to a parent or responsible adult.

Here is a link to a site that has PE activities for students at home. It may help when boredom begins to set in: https://openphysed.org/activeschools/activehome

If you have questions, please call the school or e-mail. I really appreciate your patience as we try to deal with all of this. We really want your student(s) to have the best experience possible.

Sincerely,

Mark Johnson Principal
